Such a lovely day so I wanted to get some photos of this top I have just finished.
It's a sample for the studio & knit to order. The yarn is a lovely soft fine cotton, with a linen & cotton mix stripe. Available in natural ecru or soft pastels.

The Grand Opening for the Old Tile Works has sadly been postponed, but there are lots of exciting developments going on around the site.

I have now been working in my lovely studio for the last couple of weeks, & gradually moving in my knitting machines & lovely yarn, so come along & visit me there!

Although I have been rather quiet here, I have been very busy lately - amongst a lot of machine knitting I have been preparing to move into a lovely new studio work-space at an exciting & gorgeous new centre at the Old William Blyth Tile Works, right by the Humber Bridge - an absolutely stunning location.

The opening will be on 18th May - which is coming round very quickly!  We have been over there painting the floor, putting up shelves, tables etc & making it into a lovely place for me to work.  I am very excited now to get moved in - I will be able to do my natural dyeing there (so much more easily than our kitchen!) - machine knitting, designing & also I will be able to hold workshops there - knitting, crochet which will be wonderful as it's not something I have been able to do from home.

Had a great day Friday helping Carol Parker putting up some Yarnbombing in Market Rasen for Plank 2013 Arts Festival!

It was my first time & good fun!  I had mqde the large PLANK pieces, then helped Carol sewing up some smaller pieces onto bollards & railings.

More photos of Carols work at Artrovings - I love the little hamsters & spiders webs!

Here's what I've been trying to finish since Christmas - a leather bag kit from Simple Way http://www.simpleway.co.uk/
Its been really nice to do, & makes a change from knitting!  The front panel needed replacing as the holes were too near the edge, but the company were great & made me a new panel. Nearly finished now! Can't wait to use it!

Making Monday!

Natalie from The Yarnyard has invited people who blog to write about it on 'Making Mondays' -
http://theyarnyard.co.uk/blog/2013/01/14/making-monday-2013/
& I'm hoping it will inspire me to blog more recently!

I'm knitting a gilet/waistcoat in this gorgeous chunky Blluefaced Leicester - I'd planned to actually knit MYSELF something over Christmas - its getting a bit embarrassing that I never have time to knit myself a jumper & my old comfy ones are getting tattier & tattier! I'm writing the pattern as I go, but its a simple drapey shape that could be worn with a belt or a shawl pin.
However it stilll needs finishing as I got distracted sewing a leather handbag from a kit (a brillliant Christmas Present!) But that's for another week......
